About our retreats

At HartsSpace, we offer a variety of ways to connect through one-on-one visits, local group meet-ups, and virtual opportunities. However, our retreats offer something different—an opportunity to truly disconnect from the demands of daily life, focus inward, and connect with like-minded individuals in a beautiful, non-judgmental space designed for self-growth.

Our unique approach to health combines functional medicine nutrition, holistic mental health methodologies, and various forms of movement, empowering you to create lasting changes tailored to your individual needs.

During the retreat, you’ll experience a balanced mix of workshops, educational content, activities, exercise, and delicious, nourishing meals.

This year’s theme, Ignite Your Light, invites you to embrace your most authentic self, not only to heal but to thrive. We believe that when you release what weighs you down and practice self-compassion through healthy eating, mindful movement, and moments of calm, you can heal your body and step into the world with confidence and purpose, sharing your unique gifts and energy.

Our retreats are a space for personal transformation, filled with valuable insights, fun, and practical action steps to take with you long after the experience ends.

Retreat Content

Science of Flow

Do you feel weighed down by a sluggish metabolism, tense muscles, or a foggy mind? Many of us unknowingly carry blockages in our bodies and minds, from built-up toxins in our gut to lactic acid in our muscles, and even racing thoughts that disrupt our neurotransmitters. These hidden obstacles can slow us down, disrupt our natural rhythms, and leave us feeling stuck.

Join us for an enlightening workshop lead by Katie that delves into the science of flow states and movement. Discover how to release blockages, clear toxins, and dissolve tension so you can feel lighter, more focused, and deeply connected to your body’s natural energy. Through hands-on activities, you'll learn:

The science behind how blockages form and impact your metabolism, neurotransmitters, and overall wellbeing.

Meet your Inner Family

Unlock the power of creativity as a gateway to understanding and harmonizing your inner world! This playful, hands-on workshop will introduce you to the basics of Internal Family Systems (IFS), an approach that helps you explore the different parts of yourself and discover how they shape your thoughts, emotions, and actions.

Through guided painting, playful activities, and group exercises, you’ll learn to identify and connect with your inner “family” of thoughts and feelings. Together, we'll explore how creative expression can help you uncover insights, release mental blocks, and find balance.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Discover the core concepts of Internal Family Systems and how they can enhance your mental and emotional wellbeing.

  • Use painting and creative play to access different parts of yourself, bringing buried emotions and thoughts into the light.

  • Learn techniques to harmonize your inner parts, creating space for greater mental clarity and flow.

No artistic experience is needed—just bring an open mind and a willingness to play! Walk away with a deeper understanding of yourself and tools for using creativity as a pathway to mental clarity and emotional freedom. Join us, and let the playful side of healing guide you toward greater harmony!

Detoxification, Hormone Health, and Vitality

In this retreat session, Michelle will guide you through an understanding of detoxification related to stress hormones, environmental toxins, and neurotransmitter imbalances. You’ll explore effective nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support your body’s natural detoxification pathways, helping you feel lighter and bringing your body into balance.

As we clear away the physical and emotional clutter, we create space to uncover your unique gifts and restore vitality. These strategies will empower you to feel more energized, less stressed, and more centered, allowing you to thrive authentically in your life.

Harnessing Visualization and Parasympathetic Activation for Optimal Health and Well-Being

In this presentation and workshop hybrid, we'll explore the powerful intersection of psychology, visualization, and the body's physiological responses to achieve lasting change. Discover how intentional visualization and goal-setting can activate specific parts of the brain and nervous system, creating a state of calm that enhances your ability to transform your nutrition, body composition, mental health, and overall sense of well-being.

You'll learn practical strategies rooted in science and psychology to visualize and align your mind and body for success. Whether you're seeking improved physical health, mental clarity, or spiritual growth, this session will offer insights and tools to guide you toward achieving your goals with ease and confidence.

Katie's training encompasses a mind, body, spirit approach to mental health and nutrition. She believes that the power of nutrition and therapy can heal a person. Her background and passions have driven her to create a clinic where a person may grow using their own intuition and cultivating healing from a place within their own resources. She sees people as their own expert and uses techniques and tools to help people to better understand and create the change they desire. Her unique approaches have helped many create sustainable change.

Michelle is passionate about connecting nutrition, mindset, and expansive living to empower lasting wellness. Her unique approaches in nutrition include using food as medicine while recognizing that a person's thoughts and beliefs have a profound biological impact on someone's physiology. Because of this, she addresses not just what people should eat, but how they should be eating, and uses our relationship with food and body to create empowered patients who can confidently make food choices that make them feel energized, at ease, and fulfilled.

Oriana teaches Hatha yoga to support healing mind, body, and spirit. She provides trauma treatment therapy, incorporating yoga and meditation into her work with First Responders. She is the Resilience and Wellness Coordinator for the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Region 3 Crisis Negotiation Team, and a volunteer with the Washington Department of Corrections Victim Assistance Program. She began her yoga journey with Joanna Cashman's Wild Grace, earning her RYT200 in 2012 and has since learned and taught with the Yoga Loft, Yoga Behind Bars, and Yoga for First Responders. Additionally, she was a faculty member with the International Trauma Treatment Program for seven years and currently teaches meditation with The Pierce County Center for Dialog & Resolution, the Dispute Resolution Center of Thurston County, and South Puget Sound Community College. For joy, Oriana engages in authentic movement as a 5 Rhythms dancer and savors nature through PNW hiking with her husband. Learn more about Oriana by visiting her website www.humanresolve.org

Lindsay believes that our relationship with food, body and movement is our greatest teacher. Her early struggles with accepting her body led her on a life path to explore her passions and purpose. Movement and creative expression have been an essential part of her life for over 30 years as she has explored, taught and performed various styles of dance including salsa, hip-hop, contemporary, Latin fusion, as well as dance fitness styles including: GROOV3 and she recently gained her certification as a Turn Up Dance Instructor. She is currently a wedding choreographer teaching couples how to dance together for their wedding! Teaching dance for the past 17 years is one of the greatest joys of her life. Learning to have a peaceful loving relationship with her body has been a lifelong journey. As we teach what we most need to learn, she has worked on various projects from facilitating workshops and presentations on body image and eating disorder awareness to leading body positive groups on a college campus and advising corporate executives on body positive marketing. She received her Masters degree in Social Science through the University of Colorado Denver where she studied Health at Every Size, the Body Positive Movement and Fat Studies. She is now grateful to be a part of a 12-step spiritual program healing from her own addiction with food and helping others do the same.

Stefanee is the owner of Sound Strategy Marketing LLC. If you've seen our content online or any of our recent brochures or flyers, she's the one behind the scenes creating it! Stefanee will be joining us at the retreat to gather more content. You may see her around the retreat taking photos or videos (with your consent). Feel free to smile her way! With a background in marketing and mental health, Stefanee makes a great addition to our team, making things work in the background so we can better serve you all weekend.
